As you know, I was recently awarded the Blog of the Year by the adorable Mae Clair. Thank you darlin!
I was thrilled and surprised to be awarded once more by the incomparable Vonnie Davis. Sinde then, with all of my guest posts going seemingly non-stop, I finally have a chance break to acknowledge Vonnie and thank her properly. If I could, I’d award it right back to her a second time. Yes folks, her blog really is that good! :) Check it out for yourself if you didn’t get a chance last time. http://vintagevonnie.blogspot.com/
They say good things come in three’s. I think that must be true because the four awesome ladies at Author Roast and Toast have also thought of me. I was their last guest of honor for 2012 so this means extra to me that they also award my Ranch with another, and the third, star! How special Mackenzie Crowne, Patsy ‘PL’ Parker, Mary Ricksen and Hywela Lyn have made me feel. They host authors each Friday and make it so much fun with all the food, drinks and shennanigens that go on to make guests and visitors giggle. I can’t say enough about them, but I will tell you they are wonderful writers, thoughtful women and the best friends a girl could ever ask for, as is proven by their ever-present tribute to the lovely Sharon Donovan whom the writing world lost this past year. How sweet of them to give Sharon’s virtual butler, Oliver, a permanent place to relax and do what he does best. I’m so proud to know these women. Thank you for thinking of me.
So on to the rest of the fun! I get to pick not just a few, but a bundle of authors to award this time! But before we get to them, here’s the ‘rules’ for this shindig:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award –http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear/ and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
I also learned you can award as many blogs as you like–that’s right, NO LIMIT!– How cool is that?
So I am listing some special and super blogs I like and visit often. Then those awardees can claim their very own stars.
Callie Hutton– Besides being my critique partner, president of our RWA chapter and a talented historical author, Callie is a friend. More than these, she hosts authors on her blog each Monday with Monday Magic and loves helping other authors. She is full of wise advice and honest in her critiques. I bestow this award on her blog for the wonderful things she uses it for.
Gale Stanley– This is a unique woman to me and a great friend. She writes M/M mostly and does a beautiful job of it. I don’t read a lot of her genre, but most of what I have read has been hers. She hosts authors like myself, not just M/M. She believes every writer is special no matter what their preferred genre and I’ve discovered a wide variety of new to me writers through her. She also does reviews and you can email her and she’ll gladly review your book on her blog.
Kristina Knight– Kristi and I joined a(nother) critique group at the same time four years ago. When we joined none of our group was published or had any real hope of being published anytime soon. Heck, just two of us had ever submitted anything. Within a year three of us had sold and it wasn’t long after that the other four (myself included) followed. Kristi and I have a rare relationship with some other very special women who refused to give up and did everything in each of our power to help one another until we all made it to publish world. Kristina now opens her heart and her blog to help other writers. She’s a cyber radio DJ and does PodCasts with authors and is always there to help promote writers and their books on her blog.
Roni Loren– This is a writer who puts it all out there for others to learn from. I admire Roni and her blog always teaches me something. So here’s to a great writer and blogger.
Nas Dean– I can’t even begin to tell you what this lady does for writers! She schedules blog tours, hosts authors on her blog and never forgets about her friends in her everyday dealings. I treasure Nas. We met on eHarlequin a few years ago and it was one of the best friendships I could ever make. She deserves this award more than I can express so you;ll just have to go visit her and see for yourself.
Alicia Dean– Alicia hasn’t had her blog for very long and already authors are waiting to be on her awesome site. It’s perfect for her genre of writing and beautiful at the same time. I don’t see a lot of thriller blogs I’d want to guest on without knowing the owner. LOL It’s not my favorite reading material, but I’ll read anything Alicia, sister OKRWA and scrimshaw doll series sister, writes! Here ya go, Alicia. I’m honored to know such a talented and generous lady. :)
Jody Hedlund– I’m tellin ya, if you have a writing question I believe this blogger has an answer. She’s genius and writes about it, rather her writing proves it. Just go read her wisdom and feel smarter for the effort. :D
And to top my list, the one who first nominated me, Mae Clair– My sister Lyrical Press sister and friend is generous and giving and just a wonderful person all around. She hosts other writers on From the Pen of Mae Clair, her blog, and it’s always a kind and fun experience. I can’t thank her enough for all the promotion opportunities she’s offered to me since I met her. Thank you, Mae. You deserve this award star!
These are the wonderful blogs I bestow this fun award on. I hope you’ll visit them and meet some new and awesome people!
Come and get your award my friends!
