What a week

Well the life of a writer is never the same one day after the next. We plot, plan and scheme ways to get in solid days of writing, harder still for those who work outside the home or at TDDJ (the dreaded day job). I’m fortunate (for now anyway) that I have a loving hero for a husband who told me he didn’t want me to work right now. “Just write” he told me. Uh…OKAY!

So- now that I’m not under daily revisions– that’s a blog for another day– I thought I would have my leisure to sit and write whatever I wanted for a while finally. Not gonna happen I don’t think.

My wolves (in the “What Else” page if you want to peek) have been howling at me. I mean, full lungs going non-stop. They do that once in a while if I neglect them too long. So I have decided to let them have their way for a while to run free and see what comes of it. You know I ♥ my wolfies!

That’s not to say I am packing the fireman up before he gets his HEA. I am going to try to work on both. Yeah… We’ll see how that goes. 😉

In the mean time join me next week with a very special guest who gets the hot seat right here on the ranch. Nope. Not gonna tell ya. You’ll have to return on Tuesday and find out for yourself who the sexy hero is.

Now see? No more hints. Well- maybe one tiny one. Remember I love wolves but my guest, not so much.

    Have fun with those wolves!

    I don’t think as writers we can ever consider anything as ‘all wrapped up’. There’s always something that comes along.

    But lucky you with no Day Job at the moment. My day job is busy, busy, busy in full swing, which leaves precious little time to write. *sigh*

      Hi Debra. I am enjoying every minute- between baby visits and kisses. 🙂 I love not having a day job, but I need to focus my time better.

      Sorry your DDJ is so busy but hopefully the season will pass quickly and it will slow some soon so you can write more. Thanks for stopping in!

    Good scared. Right? 😛 So have you heard of sgili? I never had until I began researching Cherokee legends for these and my brother directed me to them, and wouldn’t ya know? Before I could finish researching another author came out with a vampire YA series…with sgili! But hers are…different than legend describes them. That’s what imagination is for. 🙂 But I hate when I get an off the wall idea, before I can act on it, someone else publishes with it! Obviously I need to either think faster, or write faster. lol

    That wolf photo scared me. 🙂 I am interested thought because my great-grandmother was Cherokee.
    I am also fortunate to write full-time due to my loving husband. I have to have some alone time, but so does he so that works out well. Our offices are across the hall form one another, so we’re together while we’re writing–but not too together. He’s really good about cooking for me and helping me.

    Hi Calisa, first let me tell you I love your blogsite. As for wolfies, I have been away for two weeks–a subject for another day and another blog–I had two sets of guests as soon as I came back. Same night actually. Last set left yesterday. Boy, do I love being home, alone in a home where there is just my dear hubby and me. Now, I love the grandchildrento death, and even their parents, sometimes, and I am a very sociable person, but honestly I am so exhausted I can’t even write a decent blog about my fabulous trip to…

      Thank you for the nice words Mona. I’m thrilled to see you here despite your exhaustion.

      I love my kids, some some of the time, too and love my granddaughters all the time (good thing since three live with us- one in our house, two in a cabin on the property). But like you I love my home alone time. Unfortunately hubby and I haven’t had much of that even with the girls grown. And we have his father living here too now. Not too much ‘me’ time going on. 🙂 I’ll be watching your blog for the trip.

    Let’s see…I’m finishing up my Scrimshaw doll story revisions, writing a sequel to Death Notice, needing to start on a Gothic Romance for a series of novellas with Mel Odom, along with an idea he has for an anthology, writing a sequel to my Reaper story, and I have some vampires clamoring for attention in my head. So…yeah, I know what you mean. 🙂 I try to completely finish one project before starting on another, but I have a few unfinished WIPS (that I didn’t even name in the above list). One is a suspense I keep picking up and putting down and the other is a paranormal that might or might not every be completed. Yikes! I am one of those with TDDJ, which I should be giving my attention to right now, so better run. Good luck with all your wolves and firemen.

      Oh I feel ya Alicia. I didn’t even list all my ‘hopefuls’. Those are just the (five) I’m trying to work on. Did I mention there are currently FOUR wolf stories in the works? And another one that will thread through two of them. Then, there’s the medical that isn’t, and the horse whisperer I submitted to Harlequin SE last year and never heard back on (not even after two “did you get that ms?” emails). Then there’s the first one I ever wrote that still has high hope. All of these last three are completed mss that need to be shopped out. Then there’s the many premises that haven’t made it to wip status, and the many that have. lol And I said I have no day job? Ugh!

    I know what you mean Shea. If I didn’t love my wolves sooo much I’d shove them under the bed. But I know even that wouldn’t last long. They’re quite alpha. *gg* lol Glad you made it by.

    Starting a new story is always exciting for me. Then the reality of “oh my gosh I have to write more than 20 pages?” hits. Kinda sucks the fun out for a while until I get over the shock. (grin) Have fun with your wolves!

    I so relate to what you are saying! I have a few stories mixing around in my mind, but I can’t seem to get the time to sit down and write. Then when I finally get in that ‘writing mode’ I have to go to work….and I only work 2 or 3 days a weeks. BLAH…..Anyway, here’s to hoping you can get to your stories and then it’ll rub off on me…lol

    I have about four stories all happening at once. I work on the two that are the loudest and then rotate the others and add in the sequels or next in series for whatever series I have out. Good luck with your Wolves!

    I get too caught up in other things also. We’re going to see some of the grandkids this weekend. I’ve told them all to get their ‘hug on,” ’cause grandma’s coming. My 13-year-old grandson, who’s voice sounds like it’s coming from a deep cave, chuckled and said, “Okay, I’ll see if I can work one up for ya.” Sometimes we have to allow life to interfere for a little bit so our souls rejouvenate. Hand in there kid, you’ll get back at it.

      Lol Your grandson sounds adorable, Vonnie. Have a great weekend. My 2 yo granddaughter is hanging out with me today. I love it since I only see or keep her every so rarely, and they live in the same town. It’s 10 milesto town from us out here in the countryside, but you’d think it’s 100. lol They own a store and are working or resting all the time. 🙂

      It’s not life interfering this time. It’s one wip fighting for a spot I had another qued into. lol When characters argue over who gets wrote first… but I’m up for it. I love my wolves! Glad you stopped by.
