This –> is what friends are for!

Osiyo~

I have a friend-fan. Keep in mind I have seen/spoken to this friend from my long-ago childhood maybe three times in the last year, six in the previous 5 yrs, and none in the 20+ before moving back to Oklahoma in 2008. Maybe…and that is combined see+speak. She’s a long haul trucker and gone a lot too. My daughter is dating her son, how ironic, because neither of us knew for weeks after the kids met and began dating. I discovered it quite by accident.

Anyway, I knew she’d bought Home months ago but hadn’t heard if she read it (never speak, remember?)ย So imagine my delight when I got this email today:

OMG! I read the book Home. I loved it. I’m going to tell everyone I know to look for your ebook. I love those kind of stories. You did a wonderful job. Please ย keep them coming and I will keep reading until my phone goes dead. ~LTJ~

๐Ÿ™‚ I just want to say to those readers/writers out there who may read this and shake your nay-saying heads… I did not pay or ask her to read Home or say this. It was a private email, not meant for anyone else to see and, as far as I know, it’s not posted to Amazon in any attempt to generate sales. I ‘told’ her I was posting it here because it’s an awesome and honest review– and it’s my blog so I’ll do what I want. ๐Ÿ˜› She didn’t say this as a friend, but as a reader.ย

And to her I say, Thank you my friend! I’ll have another book for you next spring! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you would like to read Home, my short novella from The Wild Rose Pressย (on sale for $1.99 on Amazon now), and decide for yourself if it’s something you’ll like (I think you will) there’s a buy link embedded in the cover art in the sidebar at the top. Right click on the cover to open in a new tab/window if you aren’t ready to leave the Ranch just yet, or haven’t had a chance to look around, but would like to check out my book. Or you can click on The Wild Rose Press link here.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget, I’ll be here over the weekend with another 6 Sentence Sunday.

  1. Hi Calisa! Those are the lovely moments we have to frame in our minds, because most readers don’t let us know when they love our books.

I’m so glad she loved your book, and I hope you find many new readers from her recommendation.

I loved your book, HOME, too. As you already know. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. [from my girl Christina Wolfer who can’t post on WP for some reason]
Those are sometimes the best reviews to get. She could have never said a word, let you assume she never got around to reading it, etc., but she loved it, was probably relieved that she did so that she could say such good things about it. I had a neighbor do a similar thing. She put off getting my book because she was so afraid she wouldn’t like it and then what would she say to me. She’s probably my biggest and best fan, besided my husband, of course.
Congrats, Calisa. It’s always wonderful to have our work appreciated.

    Thanks Tina! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I loved Home. Your friend was right on target. If she hadn’t loved it too, she wouldn’t have bothered to email. How sweet of her to show her appreciation.
