Calisa Rhose presents ~ Sandra Bruney with A Question of Boundaries
Osiyo~
Welcome one and all! Grab a beverage of choice, something sweet and sinful. No-no, not the men. What’s the matter with you? You know the hands-on rules… The guest gets first pick! 😉 Take a comfy seat for another, or a first, spin in the Round Pen.
I know, I know. I’m a day late posting this. Believe me, it’s been no bed of roses with a sick kid and an injured daughter. Nothing serious for wither, but it’s kept me running since Friday. Lol
So, to get to today’s guest, I’m thrilled to welcome my friend and wonderfully talented writer, Sandy Bruney, who is sharing her book, “A Question of Boundaries” with us!
Please show Sandy some real Ranch love!
Before I get to the nosy 5-3-4 part of this interview, tell us a bit about you.
Okay, I’ll begin with five questions, then follow with three more, and end with four final ones.
My writing area at the moment is a corner of the couch in my living room. What does your writing space look like?
A total disaster. Books, notebooks, papers, and of course a dish of candy to munch when I need some energy. Jelly beans right now.
For a lot of writers it’s a life-altering event coming up with titles and character names. Others it comes as naturally as breathing. Which is it for you?
Some are hard, and some are easy. Either they pop immediately in my head or I have to look through the telephone book or the obituary page in the newspaper.
What advice would you offer aspiring and new writers?
Learn the craft. Take workshops, go to conferences, read books. And never, ever give up your dream.
The constant shift of the industry makes me often scratch my head and ask ‘what next?’ So, what do you think it takes to be a successful author at the moment?
Write the story only you can write. Fads come and go before we know it. By the time you write in the genre popular at the moment, it will have changed.
Who would you like to meet in the publishing industry- dead or alive- and why?
Donald Maas. He’s inspiring and knowledgeable.
It’s time for 3 in 1! I’ll ask the questions and you answer them in one word. 😆
Favorite animal? Cat
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter? Fall
Favorite food? Fried chicken
Well done! 🙂
Okay, Flash four. Ready? What are you working on now?
A sequel to “A Question of Boundaries” called “A Question of Loyalty.”
What are you sharing today?
By 1895, the United States is in the 80th year of the isolation imposed by King Thomas I and upheld by his successors. But, some are chafing under the shortages and restrictions, and when inventor Dr. Featherstone declares he has found a way to override all borders, there are those who applaud the discovery and those who fear it.
When Dr. Featherstone fails to return home for an important scientific gathering, his daughter Caroline enlists the help of the Member of Parliament from Charlotte, Nathan Llewellen. As the two search for the kidnappers, Caroline is plunged into a world where travel to other realities is possible in the blink of an eye, and people can assume the forms of fearsome as well as familiar animals…and where love comes at the most unexpected times and places.
Nathan’s peculiar gift might cost Caroline her life, but she has already lost her heart.
