Calisa Rhose presents ~ Ghosts-Real and Fictional by Liza O’Connor

Welcome Liza! I can’t wait to hear about your ghosts so let’s get right to it! 😀

Lassierfloating

I live with a ghost. An Irish fellow once offered to get rid of my ghost for me. I refused without hesitation, because a) this is her house, her brother built it for her, and b) I rather like having a ghost hanging around. She is a very nice lady, named Mrs. Martin.

Not that she told me her name. It’s just my house has only had three owners, and the only person who has died in this house is Mrs. Martin. While she’s never spoken to me, nor materialized before me, she has made her presence known in many ways.

Floorboards constantly creaked as if someone was walking on them. Doors would open, I presumed from a draft. Cabinet doors opened as well. All of these oddities I attributed to the house being 50-years-old.

But then, the throw rugs I placed in various places to protect the carpet began to move. I’ve never seen them move, but I put them in a certain spot and the next time I enter the room they are placed somewhere else. Now the creaky boards sounding like footprints took on another possibility. So I asked my neighbor if anyone had ever died in my house and discovered the original owner of my house had indeed died in her bedroom.

I thought perhaps all the walking about and opening doors was because she searched for the adorable five daughters who lived in the house before me. I told her the little girls had gone to live by the shore and she was stuck with me now. And just like that, the constant door openings and floor board creaking ceased. The rugs still move, even to this day. But otherwise, she’s pretty quiet now.

However, when my dad came to visit and I put him in her room, she got riled up. The first morning he comes in to the kitchen and asks me if I have a ghost. I admitted I did and asked him how he knew. He said he’d heard what sounded like boots slam down on the floor and then stomp over to him. Then he heard a heavy sigh and the sound of boots leaving the room.

While I’ve never seen her, one Halloween I went to the door, where a mother stood with her little monsters. She complimented me on my Halloween scene. I had no idea what she spoke of. She insisted an old woman sat at my piano playing.

I was highly insulted Mrs. Martin would show herself to strangers, but not me. She got scolded. And when the next batch of monsters arrived, I told her she could answer the door. She refused.

How does this equate to my fictional ghost, Lassier?Lassier

Well, Lassier not only materializes, but does so in a convincing manner. He can even excite his molecules sufficiently to generate the sensation of warm skin. So most of the million women he has made love to never had a clue he was a ghost.

Also, he’s much older. He was alive in the 15th century. Nor is he the only ghost in the castle. Any Durran buried in the family cemetery will return as a ghost. However, since Gar refuses to invite anyone to the castle, most of the ghosts float about as white orbs. Materializing takes a great deal of effort, and if no one is even going to notice, why bother? Only Lassier materializes daily and can do so in spectacular form.

Mr Finch_LC

His ghost ocelot is a bit different. You cannot see the cat, but you can feel him. And when he walks across something soft like a bed, you can see the indentations. He also has a deep resonating purr that can put you at ease.

Lassier-n-Senna

Having a real ghost opened my eyes to all sorts of potentials, and one night I dreamed of a sexy ghost lover. The next morning I googled the matter and discovered this matter has been talked and written about since early man. So I decided to write a book with a sexy, lascivious ghost, who is treated as a real person instead of something evil or paranormal.

Ghost Lover

By Liza O’Connor

Contemporary Romance with a touch of paranormal

 Blurb

Two sexy English brothers. One irresistible ghost. Who would you choose as your lover?

Completely broke and with a criminal record to boot, Senna Smith is one day from eviction from her apartment when Brendon, her promiscuous roommate from London, suggests she go to England, marry him, and manage his fortune. With few other options, she agrees to an open marriage. But she’ll never, ever, have sex with him, knowing if she falls in love with him, he’ll break her heart.

As trustee of Brendon’s family fortune, there is no way Brendon’s older brother, Garrison Durran, is going to let him marry a self-professed American gold-digger. As Senna tries to embrace castle life and English society for Brendon’s sake, Gar discovers Senna is the perfect woman for him–beautiful and intelligent, kind and caring. Now, if she wasn’t already engaged to his brother

The ancestral ghost of Durran Castle has to intervene if the Durran brothers have any chance of an heir. He can’t leave them to fix matters on their own. They are useless buggers when it comes to love. As counselor to Gar, matchmaker for Brendon, and lover to Senna, a ghost’s work is never done.

 Excerpt

Senna woke to her breast beeping. Trying to make sense of the oddity, she pushed herself up to rest on her elbows and discovered the noise came from Brendon’s wristwatch. Somehow, his hand had found its way beneath her bra during the night, and now chirped like a baby chick.

She contemplated tearing his hand off at the wrist, but he looked so angelic with his curly dark hair framing his handsome face. With a heavy sigh, she unlatched her bra and eased his hand out, then gently shook him until his face scrunched into a pained grimace.

He groaned and frowned at his noisy watch. “This is a god-awful hour to be woken up,” he said in his sexy British accent. “Never bothers me when I’m coming home at this hour.”

Senna rolled her eyes. “Speak for yourself.”

Pushing himself up, he shook his head. “Remember the second night I came around? You kept yelling at me, ‘Did I realize it was four in the morning?’ At the time, I couldn’t understand your fuss.” He groaned and scratched his scalp. “Well, I certainly understand it now. It’s bloody hell to be woken at this ungodly hour.”

Calisa Rhose ~ Wednesday Wrap-Up presents ~ Corinne’s Submission Calls – Summer Lovin’

I’ve turned the Round Pen over to fellow Lyrical Press editor, Corinne DeMaagd, this month. Settle in and let’s see what you can do to submit your work and get published with her!

Buy the Book Blog Tours presents Rosanne Bittner's Ride the Free Wind

Yippee, it’s June! I love this time of year – the beginning of summer – warm evenings with a glass of wine on the front porch after the kids are asleep, my pup at my feet, the smell of lilac and storms. Tired, but a good tired, after fitting as much as possible into one summer day.

Where I am in the north, our twilight will stretch until 10:30pm around the summer solstice. My enjoyment for this time of year is deeply rooted from when I was a wee thing. My mum allowed us to play outside until the street lights came on, so you can imagine my anticipation and thrill of long June nights.

June is the time for love. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, sunset skies and stargazing. Everyone is feeling a little frisky after a long winter in hibernation. Summer romance is on the horizon – the possibilities exciting.

So, I’m looking for some Summer Lovin’ – stories with great sexual tension, action and adventure – from sweet to steamy.

Even if none of the below fit your manuscript, I am still happy to take a look, or you can submit it directly to the Lyrical Editorial team at: https://lyricalpress.submittable.com/submit

  • First Days – I use this term a lot, and I’m not sure if I’ve made it up or heard it from somewhere else. I’m looking for stories that really focus on the passion and excitement of falling in love: the butterflies, the wonderment and confusion. The time in life that rarely can be repeated – all the great emotion and buzz that resonates in your gut when you know something is building, something inescapable, something that will change your life.
  • Sports – I’d love to see sport involved in a romance – from football to fencing, soccer to swimming, rodeo to rugby. Bring on your sexy athletes and make ‘em sweat it out on the field or in the bedroom.
  • Travel – I’m partial to stories set in Scotland, Ireland, England and Australia whether they are contemporary, historical, or fantasy, but any exotic destination will do. Or a good “on the road” story full of discovery and growth.

Keep in mind, I am always on the lookout for the following genres: Contemporary (from sweet to sexy), Historical, Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and anything that falls under the Lyrical Lines: Entice, Embrace, Once Upon and especially Hometown Heroes – I have a soft spot for men in uniform.

I look forward to hearing from you. Go on – sweeten my summer! corinnedemaagd@lyricalpress.com

Why mess with a good thing? It’s FREE~

Osiyo~

I am excited to turn my blog over to Piper Denna to tell you about her new release. Yes, I realize there are two men on this “gorgeous” cover, and there’s a good reason! I think I dreamed about this book a couple of years ago. 😀 Don’cha just love those…shoes? Shame on you! Let me just say there is fun yet to be experienced here on the Ranch folks! New waters, I tell ya! And yes, I’m blushing over here…

Bring it, Piper!

Why mess with a good thing?

So I have this married couple in one of my books—Fantasy Mountain—and they’re my favorite romantic couple out of every one I’ve written. They got their HEA and for all we know, are doing just great together.

Why would I want to write their sequel and have them experimenting with another partner?

Good question, one I asked my muse when she seemed determined to take them into mĂ©nage territory in their next book, rather than have them moving on to the next stage as a couple (and taking backstage as secondary characters, while a new H and h get their romance). I knew Victoria, and was certain she couldn’t dabble with another man and walk away unattached. It’s just not in her makeup. So, of course, she was going to fall in love with this hot Olympic swimmer-dude who’s protecting his identity, hounded by the media, and lonely (I did!). Which meant things were going to get sticky in her marriage. There are bound to be hurt feelings, jealousy, distrust
 right?

Yes and no. I did some research (including reading some m/f/m novels, most of which were more about sex than love) and discovered many women fantasize about having a second man, and it’s not all about the physical aspect, but for many females the idea of having another person focused on taking care of them
Yeah. I can see how that would click.

So, did inviting David into their bed screw up (pardon the pun) Vic and Brett’s relationship? It did get awkward several different times. But I think they managed to work out the kinks (again with the punny clichĂ©s, right?) so they have options, and are happy for now. Believably. And man, did they have a good time getting where they went

This is a stand-alone novel, but it reads better knowing the characters’ backstory from Fantasy Mountain, especially the “bad guy”, who now has an anonymous accomplice aboard.

Hope you’ll check it out!

Thanks,

Piper Denna

Romance is sexy!

Book 2 of Fantasies, Inc: Victoria’s Secret Wish

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

BLURB:

Maybe three isn’t always a crowd.

“Erotica’s Sweethearts”, Brett and Victoria Grant, are launching the Fantasies, Inc. Aphrodite–a cruiseliner dedicated to carnal pleasures. Since the voyage is all about fantasies coming true, Brett is determined to see Victoria realize her own wildest dream: being pleasured by two men at once.

Victoria can hardly keep her eyes–or hands–off gold medal swimmer David Roman when he boards the Aphrodite. And when Brett propositions David, she can’t say no. But Brett doesn’t know the extent of her fantasy. She wants him as into her other guy as she is. Will his adventurous spirit stretch that far?

David knows it’s a bad idea to get in the middle of the Grants’ marriage. He doesn’t have a kinky bone in his body–or so he thought before this trip–but the romps keep getting wilder and he keeps imagining more. And he really likes them both…as much in bed as out. If the paparazzi discover he’s involved with such a high-profile couple, his career is over. Is he willing to risk everything to continue?

WARNING: Adult sensuality and language, ménage a la two men bent on arousing their woman beyond all control, voyeurism, foot and hair fetish scenes, same sex situations, betrayal, and industrial espionage.

EXCERPT:

“Why are you nervous? Is it because you’re seeing me, or because you’re seeing a therapist?”

“Therapist.” As Britt had pointed out, seeing Serena Weiss would be less intimidating than any other therapist. After all, they’d watched from the AV room as Serena’s fantasy had been recorded. Having seen a woman go wild like that made her quite easy to approach. Aside from the therapist issue, anyway.

Serena leaned forward and took Victoria’s hands in her own. “If I might make a suggestion?”

“Mmm?”

“While you’re on this break from trying to conceive, give yourself a hall pass. Do some wild, sexy stuff. Nothing can kill the fun of sex like making it a means to a baby. Besides, one day you’ll be prego, and then a mom. And let me tell ya, that living-in-the-moment business doesn’t happen much for us mommies.”

Wild, sexy stuff. Like what? Britt’s idea of sharing her with another man on the cruise? Now she was probably blushing. “Um. Yeah. Even though I arrange all those fantasies, I’m pretty straightlaced.”

“Something tells me there’s a vixen inside you, just waiting to get out. Give her a spin. Trust me, your man will love it.”

BIO:

Romance is sexy. And often funny, and sometimes tangled up with suspense. Let’s face it: all sorts of things get mixed up with romance in real life.

Piper Denna’s stories are not cut-and-dried romance. She wants her characters to deal with issues female readers can relate to: independence and trust, empowerment, inhibitions, an unfaithful partner, motherhood. Sometimes her characters make mistakes and often her “bad guys” are not 100% bad. Mostly she wants to take the reader on an emotional journey to a happy ending
with a few enviable sexual encounters along the way.

When she’s not writing, she edits, raises two teens along with her husband, and has an evil day job.

She enjoys books–or movies–with a comedic twist and hopefully a love story with lots of tension, too.

Sexiest parts of a man in Piper’s opinion? The hands and eyes. Shoulders are nice too, and of course, great pecs are never amiss
